In support of the City Government of Tagum and Tagum City Tourism, Arts & Culture Council, Inc. (TCTACCI), the Commission on Higher Education encourages all public and private higher education institutions (HEIs) to voluntarily participate in the 21st Musikahan sa Tagum Festival, with the theme, “Musikahan @ 21: Enjoy the Music, Capture the Spirit of the City in Harmony”.
The 21st Musikahan sa Tagum Festival consists of two (2) music competitions:
- Himig Handog International Choral Grand Prix is open to all amateur choirs with five categories: Mixed Choir, Youth Choir, Children’s Choir, Folksong and, Pop Category. The first three categories are classified according to the participants’ age bracket and institution. The last two categories are open to all kinds of groups, including small vocal; ensembles. e.g., pop-cappella groups.
- Rondal-Awit National Competition is an exquisite display of skill in plucked string music renditions and vocal solo performances wrapped in a series of competitions participated by the different rondalla ensembles in the country, who have proven their virtuosity in their own engaging and singular interpretation of their chosen music compositions of either Filipino or Foreign pieces.
