Republic Act No. 10121, otherwise known as the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010, deems vital the participation of civil society organizations (CSOs) and private sector in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and recognize their contributions in the government’s disaster risk reduction (ORR) efforts, as well as their voluntary commitments on social responsibility.
Further, the NDRRMC structure includes the membership of four (4) CSOs and one ( 1) private sector representative.
In this view, the NDRRMC calls for the application of civil society organizations and private sector organizations to the Council. Attached is the NDRRMC Memorandum Circular No. 03, s. 2012, outlining the guidelines for the selection process. The deadline of submission of all the required documents shall be within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issuance of this Memorandum.
All documents shall be submitted to the NDRRMC Secretariat at Policy Development and Planning Service, Second Floor, Office of Civil Defense, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City. For queries and clarifications, you may contact the NDRRMC Secretariat at (02) 912-0441, 912-5947, and ndrrmc.secretariat@yahoo.com.
