This has reference to the implementation of CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) 22, Series 2013, “Revised Policies, Standards and Guidelines (PSGs) on Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP)”.

Relative to the _said CMO and due to the pandemic, the Commission on Higher Education temporarily suspended the implementation of SIAP for Academic Year (AY) 2020-2021 through a Memorandum from the Office of the Chairperson dated July 1, 2020, per CEB Resolution No. 396-2020.

With the resumption of face-to-face classes by higher education institutions (HEls) and the lifting of the pandemic status and the lifting of the state public health emergency thru the Proclamation No. 297 S. 2023, inbound and outbound travelers are already allowed with less restrictions based on the requirements of the country of destination.

In view of the foregoing, the Memorandum from the Office of the Chairperson dated July· 1, ·2020, on the temporary suspension of SIAP is hereby lifted effective 1st semester, A Y 2023-2024.

For internship in the agriculture program, the same shall be covered by another set of guidelines.

In the reinstatement of the SIAP implementation, participating HEls are reminded to strictly comply with the requirements and procedures provided under CMO No. 10, Series of 2023 dated August. 29, 2023. Further, the HEls are directed to prepare a Contingency Plan in coordination with the partner Foreign Host Establishment/Organization (FHE/O) which shall include coordination with the Foreign Service Post in the host country, for emergency situations.
