The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) brings together premier college basketball players from selected nineteen (19) higher education institutions, both public and private, for an exciting hardcourt action in the first-ever CHED All Star Basketball Friendship Games 2024.
The CHED All-Star Friendship Games, a flagship initiative of the CHED conducted in celebration of Christmas and the World Basketball Week, aims to promote basketball as a tool for nation-building, youth development, and sports excellence.

Today at the Amoranto Stadium, Quezon City, CHED Secretary Popoy De Vera together with Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Youth and on Sports Senator Bong Go officially opened the tournament.
“This friendship game was organized to showcase the talents and skills of our players from our private and public universities in a friendly competition. This competition also showcases the unity of our higher education institutions and exemplifies the values of camaraderie and sportsmanship,” De Vera said.
“As the Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Youth and on Sports, I fully support initiatives like this. We are committed to strengthen sports development in the country. Dahil sa ating serbisyo meron na tayo ngayong National Academy of Sports (NAS) sa New Clark City Sports Complex kung saan pwede magtraining ang ating mga kabataang atleta and tayo din po ang nagsponsor ng Philippine National Games (PNG) bill,” Go said.

The CHED All-Star Friendship Games assembled elite basketball players represented by major collegiate sports associations, University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA), National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (NAASCU), Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA), and Local Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (LCUAA).
The friendship games started today December 11, 2024 until December 13, 2024 at the Amoranto Stadium.

In the thrilling opening exhibition game, the NCAA All Star selection outlasted the UAAP All Star selection at 105-97.
In the afternoon session, the SCUAA All Stars beat the PRISAA All Stars with a score of 80-79. Meanwhile Game 2 was dominated by the NAASCU All Stars with an outstanding 20-point victory over LCUAA All Stars, 85-65.
The tournament was organized by CHED in partnership with GMA Network, Dorayd Bola ng Pinoy, Design Express, and Digital Out Home.
