The public is informed that the following programs offered by St. Vincent De Ferrer College of Camarin (SVDFCC) were ordered to be phased out by the Commission on 19 October 2021:
- Bachelor of Elementary Education;
- Bachelor of Science in Accountancy;
- Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management;
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology;
- Bachelor of Secondary Education.
And that SVDFCC was prohibited by the Commission from accepting students for enrollment in the above-mentioned programs beginning the 1st term of Academic Year 2022-2023, while student who were already in their second, third and forth year levels of the concerned programs shall be allowed to complete their studies until graduation or to transfer to other institutions at their option with the assistance of CHED NCR.
While that decision of the Commission was appealed by SVDFCC on 01 August 2022, the appeal was denied with finality by the Commission en Banc (CEB) on 18 October 2022. Although that denial of the appeal was again questioned by the SVDFCC in other courts of competent jurisdiction, the Commission has not received any injunctive relief against the implementation of the said CEB Decisions.
Hence on 25 April 2023, the Commission issued a cease and desist order against SVDFCC from accepting students for enrollment in the phased-out programs in accordance with the previous orders of the Commission. The Commission has also revoked the government recognition of the five programs of SVDFCC which were issued phased-out orders, upon graduation and/ or transfer of second, third and fourth-years students during the AY 2022-2023.
Students enrolled in these programs as first year students during AY 2022-2023 will not be given a Special Order, which is a pre-requisite for graduation.
