LAOAG CITY — The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) officially launched TANAW, its national higher education data portal, on January 23 during the Launching of PBBM-GABAY ng Bayan Programs with Ilocos Norte 1^st District Representative and House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Araneta Marcos III, representing President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. The launch coincided with the 2^nd Joint Trifocal Education Management Committee Meeting of CHED, the Department of Education (DepEd), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), underscoring the government’s push for coordinated, data-driven education governance.

CHED TANAW provides a clear and comprehensive view of the Philippine higher education landscape through interactive maps and dashboards. The portal features data on the location of government-recognized colleges and universities, student enrollment trends, and the contributions of graduates and scholars to national development.

Under CHED’s ACHIEVE Agenda, TANAW advances the Commission’s vision for expanded and integrated real-time data collection and analytics, enabling evidence-based policies, planning, and decision-making across the higher education sector.

According to CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, the portal aims to empower students, families, and policymakers alike. “CHED TANAW is about clarity and confidence. Students and families can clearly see their college options, while policymakers can make decisions grounded on reliable, official data. By making higher education data accessible, we strengthen planning and ensure that policies respond to the real needs of our people,” she said.

Designed to support Senior High School students in choosing their college pathways, the portal offers official, up-to-date information on legitimate and recognized higher education institutions across the country.

With TANAW, CHED reinforces its commitment to transparency, accountability, and data-driven governance in Philippine higher education.
